In 1983, VOLKSWAGEN Group Japan K.K. was established as a fully owned subsidiary of VOLKSWAGEN AG. Since its establishment, the company has enjoyed a leading position in the Japanese import car market, with its products widely accepted by the Japanese customers.

On January 1, 2022, the company opened a new chapter with the merger with Audi Japan K.K., aiming to create synergies among the 4 unique brands, Volkswagen, Audi, Lamborghini and Bentley. Currently, VOLKSWAGEN Group Japan K.K. has a total of nearly 380 employees working in 3 locations (Toyohashi HQ, Tokyo Office, and Yokohama Office).

About internships at VGJ:

Volkswagen Group Japan K.K. offers a wide array of internships in business and administrative divisions within the brands Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini and the group functions - Human Resources, Network Management, After Sales, General Service, Marketing, PR, Sales, and Business Operations.

The minimum length for an internship is 6 months. After 6 months, the internship can be extended up to 12 months if the intern and the department agree.

We are looking for interns with a good command of the Japanese language and strong interested in gaining work experience in an international environment.

In our headquarters in Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture we have internship opportunities in the following departments:
Human Resources, Parts supply Chain, Product Support, and Product Quality

In Shinagawa, Tokyo we have internship opportunities in the following departments:
Human Resources, General Affairs, PR, Marketing, Retail Quality Management, Volume Planning & Ordering, After Sales and Sales

Required specialized knowledge

- Strong interest or experience in the respective business branch and department preferred

Preferred language abilities

- Japanese: business level (N2 or N1) required
- English: business level required
- German: nice to have

Preferred skills

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
- Good communication skills in Japanese and English
- Ability to work in a team
- Independent work style. An economic background and experience in the regarding business branch is also preferred, but most of our departments focus on good Japanese skills.

Additional assistance

- 180,000 JPY / monthly salary (before social insurances and income tax deduction)
- Available company housing for Toyohashi interns (rent will be deducted monthly)
- Commuting costs up to 50.000 JPY will be reimbursed monthly.

- Support for a successful start in Japan

Others

Visa related requirements:

Non-Japanese candidates need to be eligible for the “Designated Activities (特定活動)” visa.
Only students fulfilling the following conditions can apply for an internship in Japan:
1. Needs to be an enrolled university students throughout the whole internship period
2.The internship counts towards the acquisition of credits at the home university or is a compulsory part of the degree
