KOPRA Chronology, Part 3

January 2004

KOPRA opens the Head Office Duisburg at the Institute for East Asian Studies of the University of Duisburg-Essen.
Ms. Julia Hollmann becomes coordinator of the third-party funded project, hosted and supervised by the Chair for East Asian Economic Studies, Prof. Dr. Werner Pascha, at University of Duisburg-Essen, and starts extending KOPRA’s activities to Germany (incoming), Korea, China and Taiwan.


March 2004

The first KOPRA-Meeting for East Asian interns in Germany takes place in Düsseldorf. KOPRA presents its homepage with a new layout.


April 2004

Mr. Juergen Woehler, Chairman of German-Korean Business Association (DKW) e.V., and Mr. Ingo Meierhans, Chairman of KOPRA e.V., sign a cooperation agreement between DKW and KOPRA.


August 2004

The first KOPRA meetings for German interns in Seoul and Taipei take place.


January 2005

Thanks to the generous support of Goethe-Institut Seoul, the new KOPRA Office Seoul is opened on its premises.


June 2005

Thanks to the generous support of TÜV Rheinland Taipei Ltd., the new KOPRA Office Taipei is opened on its premises.


July 2005

Thanks to CDHK (Chinesisch Deutsches Hochschulkolleg) at Tongji University, the new KOPRA Office Shanghai is opened on its premises.
KOPRA presents its multilingual homepage with extended services for companies and students and a new design.


May 2006

Michael Geier, German Ambassador to Rep. Korea, takes over the patronage for KOPRA Korea.
Detlef Boldt, Director General of the German Institute Taipei, takes over the patronage for KOPRA in Taiwan.
Dr. Volker Stanzel, German Ambassador to PR China, takes over the patronage for KOPRA China.


June 2006

Ms. Caterina Wasmer M.A., MBA, becomes KOPRA project manager and joins the KOPRA Duisburg team.


October 2006

Dr. Hans-Joachim Daerr, German Ambassador to Japan, takes over the patronage for KOPRA Japan.


December 2006

The newly appointed German Ambassador to the Republic of Korea , Dr. Norbert Baas, grants KOPRA his support by taking over the patronage of KOPRA in Korea.


November 2007

Dr. Norbert Schaefer, German Ambassador to PR China, agrees to become the new patron of KOPRA in China.


February 2008

Ms. Caterina Wasmer M.A., MBA becomes Managing Director of KOPRA. Her predecessor, Ms. Julia Hollmann, takes over the chair of KOPRA e.V.


From May 2009

For the first time, more than 1000 companies are registered at KOPRA. The KOPRA Team is working on the relaunch of KOPRA’s website with a new design and many new features for companies and applicants (e.g. companies can offer jobs, match applicants and applicants will be able to use additional tools to search for their desired internship or job). Along with the website, all printed materials of KOPRA are also revised.
