3-6 Month Internships starting April 2026 (On-site in Japan only) NRW Japan K.K. (Japanese subsidiary of NRW.Global Business GmbH, the Trade & Investment Agency of the German State of North Rhine-Westphalia)
Our interns engage in diverse and challenging tasks designed to prepare them for a global business career:

- Lead Generation: Identifying and researching Japanese companies interested in entering the German and EU markets.

- Business Development: Contacting prospective companies to promote investment in NRW at events such as trade fairs, seminars, and conferences.

- Strategy & Consulting: Drafting business proposals and case studies for market entry strategies (both for the German/EU and Japanese markets).

- Industry Research: Conducting research of the focus industry sectors e.g. Aerospace, Defense, Green Economy, Smart Manufacturing, Life Sciences, Chemicals, and ICT.

- Event Management: Organizing and preparing high-profile events, including NRW.Global Business Seminars, NRW Japan K.K. Fireplace Talks, trade fair participations, and high-level delegations from NRW.

- Marketing & PR: Creating content for newsletters and PR materials for online/offline media, and coordinating marketing activities with professional agencies (including translation tasks).

- Business Operations: Gaining hands-on experience in a wide range of office tasks while building a professional network in Japan.

Required specialized knowledge

Economic Studies (Business Administration, Economics, ...) or 
Engineering Science, Natural Science or Medical fields or 
and Law (Rechtsreferendare or law students) are welcome! 
A strong interest or specialization in Japan related studies is
of advantage.

Preferred language abilities

Japanese (written and spoken, preferably JLPT 1 or 2), German and English

Preferred skills

Basic PC/Mac Skills (MS Teams, MS Office Suite, ...) are welcome. Experience with Salesforce, Invitario, Zoom, and video editing etc., communication tools as well as with SNS tools (Twitter, LinkedIn) is welcome.
Good knowledge about Germany and the German State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
