Description

Cambodia is a country mired with long history of human violence, corruption and exploitation of its citizens. Only in recent decade have NGOs and other well-meaning organizations been allowed into the country. However the process of establishing an NGO in Cambodia remains a daunting task with numerous pitfalls. I have therefore decided to create a sort of Wikipedia, which aggregates information aiding in these processes. https:connect.angkorhub.com hopes to become crossroads as well as a hub to all who care for Cambodia, its people and their quality of both physical and mental health.
I need your help to make this dream come true.

As a community manager intern here in Siem Reap you would reach out to NGOs, connect them with the portal, teach their employees how to leverage information stored therein and curate the data. You would also plan and host community events and workshops at the HUB that may further disseminate information stored at the portal.
AngkorHUB focuses at connecting locals with international community; to this end you will be assigned a Cambodian assistant, whom you will be encouraged to teach your craft. The more you teach her/him the more help s/he will be to you! (We won’t assign you anyone without your prior consent.)

This position comes with many perks:
Opportunities for personal growth and development of contacts and expertise in the NGO environment
Being part of a vibrant, friendly communities; AngkorHUB’s crew & visitors, Siem Reap’s expats and curious Cambodian youth
Free accommodation either on-site or private nearby
Access to 35Mbps dedicated internet, powered by a back-up generator in case of power outages
2 free meals a day; breakfast and family style, home-made lunch & free coffee, tea and water all day
Free bicycle for private use
Free laundry service
Access to our garden with a bamboo hut, hammocks & pool table
Access to other events and workshops at the HUB on a wide range of topics
Free time to explore numerous local landmarks and country’s natural beauties such as Angkor Wat, the biggest temple site in the world or Tonlé Sap, a lake dotted with local fishing villages – all in proximity of Siem Reap

We are hoping to find someone able to start immediately (June) with proposed duration of 6 months. This can however be negotiated on individual basis.
